EARLY COMPLICATIONS FOLLOWING RENAL TRANSPLANTATIONS

In this report, early complications (defined as those occurring within one month post-operatively) following renal transplantation were evaluated in 373 kidney transplantations in our department. The most common complications as well as their relative frequency and method of management are discussed.

Pancreatic Transplantations in the Spleen

Pancreatic tissue implanted in the spleen and separated from its original vascular and nervous connections can live and functionate for months. A small nodule of pancreatic tissue composed of acini without demonstrable islands of Langerhans prevented the development of diabetes. Death occurred 187 days after the extirpation of the pancreas.

Jacobi transplantations and Weyl integrals

We prove that transplantations for Jacobi polynomials can be derived from representation of a special integral operator as fractional Weyl’s integral. Furthermore, we show that, in a sense, Jacobi transplantation can be reduced to transplantations for ultraspherical polynomials.
